Specializing in Film, Executive Portraiture, Products, Portraiture, Children, Architecture, Interiors

Specialties:

  • Location & talent scout.
  • Research & production management for commercial film companies.
  • Advertising photography of people and places.
  • Large format architectural photography & portraiture.

After graduating from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California, with a degree in Professional Photography, with an emphasis on Motion Picture Production, I came home to Alaska, the place of my birth.

I started my business in 1983 and concentrated on large format Architectural Photography. My photographs have won some National and International design awards for my clients.

For the past five years I have focused on Commercial Film Production and Advertising Photography. Bradley-Reid Communications, a local advertising agency won three "Best of the North" Bonnies with my photography in 1995 and two more in 1996.

I often work as a location and talent scout for local, national & international film production companies. I assist with logistics, permits, locations, talent, production management & coordination.

I offer my services state wide and have a large selection of glaciers, snow fields, mountain lakes, talent, and have great film locations and contacts state wide.

To me the key to great photography is the ability to connect with the person you are photographing. I like people and have the ability to put them at ease & capture their real personalities and essence on film.

When I am shooting a building I use the same technique. I wait for the right combination of clouds and sun and sky  to show off the building in its best light. I like dramatic building shots using dusk dawn techniques.

Often I set up and wait for the exact right moment to trip the shutter. Once I have sunlit grass waving in the wind in the foreground, darkening storm clouds behind, and a moment of sun breaking through, that's when I trip the shutter.
